On January 11, the Krewe of Orpheus named Keegan-Michael Key their Monarch for this year’s parade. Key is an actor, comedian, writer and producer known for his show Key & Peele with co-star Jordan Peele. Key and Peele also teamed up for the 2016 feature film Keanu. You may also recognize Key from Why Him and Netflix's Friends from College. He was listed as one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World in April 2014 along with Peele.

Key will be joined by other stars at his year Orpheuscapade, the Orpheus’ ball, at the Morial Convention Center. This year's black-tie event – "Nola 300 Jam Fest" – will honor the tricentennial with an all-star line-up that will include Trombone Shorty, Deacon John, Irma Thomas, Al "Carnival Time" Johnson, Amanda Shaw, Dixie Cups, Big Freedia, Bonerama, Flow Tribe and more. Orpheuscapade will follow the Orpheus parade on Lundi Gras, February 12, 2018.
