Can you imagine getting a coconut from Spike Lee? It could happen. On January 9th, Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club's announced that the filmmaker would be their honorary celebrity grand marshal for 2018.
Lee has produced more than 35 films, including She's Gotta Have It (1986), and has directed films like Do the Right Thing (1989), Malcolm X (1992), The Original Kings of Comedy (2000), 25th Hour (2002), Inside Man (2006) and Chi-Raq (2015). He has acted in ten of his own films.
Zulu's coronation ball is Friday, Feb. 9 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The entertainment line-up includes Fantasia, En Vogue, Rebirth Brass Band and DJ Captain Charles. The parade will roll on Fat Tuesday, February 13, right before Rex.
