Mardi Gras 2013 Photo Contest Winners

March 13 2013

Mardi Gras 2013 will forever hold a special place in my heart. It was a truly amazing carnival season, picturesque and breathtaking.

Thank you to everyone that shared their photographs from this year’s Mardi Gras. We enjoyed browsing through your submissions for the photo contest and sharing in your memories.

You can check out all of the photos submitted this year and previous years in this photo gallery.

I wish that we could’ve given out a lot more than just two prizes, there were so many pictures that truly captured the essence of Mardi Gras. It was extremely hard to pick just two winners, but after some serious debate, the winners have been chosen.

Congrats go out to the Grand prize winner Lori, with her photo of Rex toasting with champagne. A great picture that shows the magic of Mardi Gras.

Lori wins a stay at the fabulous Maison Dupuy, a luxury hotel in the French Quarter; a tour of New Orleans culture with Gray Line New Orleans; and a breakfast for two at Café Beignet!

1st Place Runner Up also goes to Lori who took this picture of the beautiful, lighted clown float.

Mardi Gras Photo ContestSecond place goes to Becky, who caught the photo of two young Mardi Gras fans hoping to catch beads thrown from a passing float and the brief disappointment of missing that throw. Don't worry, I have a feeling that they made up for it by the time the last float passed by.

Becky wins a jazz lunch cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez and a burger meal for two at Frostop.

Congrats once again to both of you. We’ll be emailing you shortly with further details.

Thank you to everyone that submitted photos, we truly wish that we could’ve picked more winners. Thank you to our sponsors for providing the prizes.

It will be hard for the krewes and float makers to top the stunning work that they did this year, but I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do! Mardi Gras 2014 is Tuesday, March 4. Make sure you have your cameras ready for next year’s contest. Who knows, maybe you’ll be the lucky winner.
