Little Freddie King will be Grand Marshal of Krewe du Fool, April 1 at 7 p.m.
The theme of the 9th Annual Krewe du Fool April Fools’ Day Parade is “Dress to the Nine! Let the Golden Shine!” The Grand Marshal will once again be Little Freddie King, the “Blues King of New Orleans,” who will be joined by The Revel Force Brass Band as well as the Thurgood Marshall Marching Band and, of course, The Krewe du Fool. The parade will begin at Royal Street and Franklin Avenue at 7 p.m. Their signature throw is the Golden Brick.
Led by Darryl "Dancing Man 504" Young, The Krewe du Fool first began parading in 2017, feeling there was a need to fill the void between Carnival and the height of festival season. This krewe should not be confused with the Krewe of Fools, a marching group that parades in the French Quarter on Lundi Gras, or the Carnival Fools, another walking parade that appeared on the scenes for the first time in 2022.
