Be There With Jingle Bells On!
At a news conference held at Mardi Gras World on Thursday, Nov.10, plans were announced for the inaugural Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade. The event will take place Saturday, December 3 starting at 3 p.m.
The festive procession will include more than 20 floats from Kern Studios, including holiday-themed floats with animatronic props, intelligent lighting systems, special effects and audio systems. The parade will also feature high-flying helium balloons, and some of our city’s most beloved marching groups and bands. Santa and his krewe from the North Pole will be tossing beads as well.
The parade will begin at the corner of Esplanade Avenue and North Peters Street, travel North Peters to Decatur Street through the French Market toward Jackson Square and Oscar Dunn Park. It will then head back to North Peters, turn right on Canal Street, left on Baronne Street, travel through downtown to Julia Street, and end on St. Charles Avenue in front of Lafayette Square. There holiday festivities will take place from 5-7 p.m. with music from Rebirth Brass Band, festive foods and more.
