Krewe of Alla, originally formed in 1932 as an all-male organization, is officially a co-ed krewe. Although women have been riding as guests since 2013, they're now able to become members.
Getting its start in the West Bank, the Krewe now parades through the streets of Uptown New Orleans. This year, King Alla LXXXIII Les Falgout and Queen Alla LXXXII Gabrielle Lynn Taylor will reign over the Krewe’s 20 floats and 450 members with a theme of "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave." Krewe of Alla is known for their bright floats, multiple bands and marching groups, and generous throws!
Membership into the Krewe of Alla is open to all males of good character who are at least 15 years of age.
Their 2015 theme is "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave." They'll be throwing doubloons, beads and more.
