Mardi Gras parades February 13-15

The Krewe of Druids and the Krewe of Nyx rolled through Uptown last night, and they’ve set the tone for the parades to come tonight and this weekend.

Friday marks one of the biggest weekends for parades in New Orleans during Mardi Gras season. No matter where you go in the city, chances are you’ll be able to catch a parade, and “super krewes” like Endymion and Bacchus will be out on Saturday and Sunday.

Friday, February 13

Uptown:
Krewe of Hermes, 6 p.m.
Krewe d’Etat, 6:30 p.m.
Krewe of Morpheus, 7 p.m.

Slidell:
Krewe of Selene, 6:30 p.m.

Metairie:
Krewe of Centurions, 7 p.m.

Saturday, February 14

Westbank:
Krewe of NOMTOC, 10:45 a.m. 

Uptown:
Krewe of Iris, 11 a.m.
Krewe of Tucks, Noon – This quirky krewe is known for throwing toilet paper rolls and toilet bowl glasses.

Mid-City:
Krewe of Endymion, 4:15 p.m. – This krewe is known for their super floats and celebrities.

Metairie
Krewe of Isis, 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, February 15

Uptown:
Krewe of Okeanos, 11 a.m.
Krewe of Mid-City, 11:45 a.m.
Krewe of Thoth, Noon
Krewe of Bacchus, 5:15 p.m. – Bacchus is known for their especially festive atmosphere. Throws are often grape and wine themed.

Metairie
Krewe of Napoleon, 5:30 p.m.

There are a couple of other events happening besides the parades that are defiintely worth mentioning: 

Ernst Cafe is hosting the annual Bacchus Bash at Generations Hall on Sunday. This giant outdoor party is free and open to the public, unless you want to buy a VIP pass for $100.  New Orleans's bands Flow Tribe, The Top Cats and Category 6 will all be playing live. VIP passes include free food, private bathrooms, DJ's, and access to grandstand parade viewing.
