A CELEBRATION OF CARNIVAL AND FAMILY
The Jefferson Convention and Visitors Bureau is proud to present Family Gras again in 2010. Dedicated to our hospitality industry, we continue our efforts in bringing visitors into Jefferson Parish. We have a unique parish complementing our neighboring Orleans parish. Family Gras is a perfect way to showcase Jefferson Parish as a tourist destination. We invite people to our family-friendly Mardi Gras, and through the sponsorship of our hospitality and business community we are able to produce a free outdoor concert that includes national and Louisiana artists alike.

The event also enables Jefferson Parish restaurants, caterers, and businesses to feature their cuisine, and desserts through the Flambeau Food Court; as well as their crafts and art pieces through our Art Market.

With crowds surpassing 80,000 and an economic impact of over 6 million dollars for Jefferson in 2009, corporate and small business owners are provided with a fantastic advertising opportunity by partnering with Family Gras.

FAMILY GRAS OVERVIEW
Family Gras is the perfect weekend getaway for family. Family Gras traditionally takes place on the neutral ground of Veterans Memorial Boulevard across from Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie, Louisiana. An ideal location to see the pageantry of Mardi Gras and enjoy the FREE outdoor concerts with Live Music on the Festival Plaza Main Stage & The Louisiana Stage from National Artists and Louisiana's Own. Past years have featured entertainers Tony Orlando, Kansas, Taylor Swift, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sheena Easton, Jesse McCartney, Amanda Shaw, and More!

Costuming encouraged...come out for Fright Night Friday wearing your spookiest threads. Join us Carnival Saturday dress for the season...purple, green and gold! And on Sports Sunday, wearing your favorite team colors!

Flambeau Court food vendors 'cook up' a good time with such favorites as jambalaya, crawfish pasta, muffulettas, pizza and gator-on-a-stick. Enjoy Louisiana goodies like bread pudding and king cake.

The Art Market features local and regional artisans booths of specialty arts & crafts available throughout the festival weekend.

Local Hotels feature special packages for your family's comfort. Discount packages are presented on familygras.com. In addition, we are partnering with Coca Cola to include a giveaway of VIP passes this year.
